Design Workshop Technician

職位描述：

熟悉工坊各類設(shè)備、工藝及材料（包括電動(dòng)及數(shù)控設(shè)備，如3D打印機(jī)和激光切割機(jī)等）；
負(fù)責(zé)工坊設(shè)施及打印設(shè)備的組建及運(yùn)作（或指導(dǎo)學(xué)生操作）；
為學(xué)生及教職工做工坊設(shè)備和操作流程的講解及演示；
負(fù)責(zé)工坊空間設(shè)備的規(guī)劃建設(shè)及日常安全管理；
針對(duì)課程開發(fā)、教學(xué)準(zhǔn)備及宣傳等方面，參與內(nèi)部研討并提供建議；
支撐設(shè)計(jì)展覽的平臺(tái)搭建，優(yōu)化照明環(huán)境及視聽媒體系統(tǒng)；
協(xié)助完成工坊成本測(cè)算及相關(guān)教職工培訓(xùn)；
能用中英文提供專業(yè)的實(shí)驗(yàn)支撐
參與工坊的早期建設(shè)，包括團(tuán)隊(duì)的人員配置、平臺(tái)的搭建、設(shè)備器材采購(gòu)、工坊工作排期及有效耗能設(shè)計(jì)等；

任職要求：

認(rèn)同南科大及創(chuàng)新創(chuàng)意設(shè)計(jì)學(xué)院理念；
具備本科學(xué)歷，碩士學(xué)歷優(yōu)先；
具備設(shè)計(jì)等相關(guān)領(lǐng)域的專業(yè)背景；
熟悉實(shí)驗(yàn)室的管理及維護(hù)，具備專業(yè)的技術(shù)水平和操作技能；
具備現(xiàn)場(chǎng)急救能力；
自我成就感強(qiáng)，具有較強(qiáng)的學(xué)習(xí)意識(shí)；
良好的中英文口頭溝通和寫作能力；
具備跨文化交流的工作能力；具備獨(dú)立思考、快速學(xué)習(xí)、問題解決能力；

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to

be knowledgeable and/or open to become familiar with a broad range of workshop facilities, processes and materials, including power tools and CNC machinery such as 3D printers and laser cutters

set up and operate (or schedule students to operate) workshop machinery and printing facilities

introduce machinery and production processes supported by the workshop to students and staff of the design school
manage and provide work spaces, tools and materials to members of the design school

oversee health and safety in the workshop

monitor and maintain workshop spaces and equipment

advise faculty members on workshop related matters in the context of curriculum development, teaching preparation, research and publicity outreach

support the design school’s exhibition design requirements by producing exhibition systems and by facilitating lighting as well as audiovisual media setups

advise the design school management team on workshop-related budgeting and staff training needs

provide professional and friendly workshop support in both English and Mandarin

support the setup and establishment of the workshop during its early stages in terms of

          technician staffing and onboarding to the growing workshop technician team
          workshop space planning and facilities setup
          facilities and consumables procurement
          the establishment of workflows and operational schedules
          the establishment of efficient consumable material flows

Qualifications

The following competencies are preferred:
       alignment with the missions and visions of the School of Design and SUSTech
       Master Degree (at least Bachelor Degree)
       demonstrable experience with and/or qualification in art, design or a similar field
       demonstrable experience with workshop management
       demonstrable experience with and/or qualification in the operation of workshop equipment
       qualification in health and safety protocols and first aid
       willingness to receive training in any of the above areas
       English and Mandarin language proficiency
       cross-cultural communication and capacity for independent thinking, fast learning and problem solving
       good service awareness and ability to effectively communicate and work with others
       empathy and ability to understand users’ needs and work under pressure
